Getting ready to paint my first 54mm unit of these. Research so far indicates a wide variety of different 'green colors'.

Looking for recommendations for a good color choice (hobby brand, craft, etc.).

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Any dark-ish green will do, think British Rifles, Russian Dragoons.

All uniforms will 'weather' in sunlight as well as 'wear' from everyday use. A little variety in the green will not matter.

I used a Tamiya dark green for the last set of Berdan's I did, which was in 15mm – I think it was a little too dark. You might try a lighter green with a dark green ink wash

I would go with the Troiani green and whatever manufacture of paint you feel a match. Not many people put in the effort to make things as accurate as he does.

If someone can prove you wrong at least you will be in good company!
