Hey all. I did some searching and found a bit of info, but I'm wondering if anyone has pictures of the various Victrix hoplite sprues. I want to pick up a box of the Unarmoured and one – or at most, two – boxes of the armoured chaps for generic sort of swords-and-sandals-y phalanx bashing. Given that, I want to get as much variety as I can out of the box in terms of gear and poses, so I'm hoping someone has clear close-ups of the parts of the sprues where there are the distinct bits.

I see the Theban box has mainly (or all?) Boeotian helmets, the Spartans have beardy faces, and then there're the Athenian and Mercenary boxes – what's their shtick?

Thanks all!

Thanks! That's handy. Looks from that like it's the bottom left quarter that would be different in the various boxes eh? The Athenians are also the one box the store nearish doesn't currently have in stock, so I may well just ask to look at the others in person to decide.

A search for images will bring most of the sprues up.

Having a different sprue for each type on the surface appears an expensive way of doing things as most of the items are duplicated.and the Roman left fist and scutum (ball and socket joint) is very user friendly in comparison and I imagine the hoplites would be redone similarly if they were ever rereleased.

IIRC the Unarmoured hoplites have much thicker spears than the armoured ones. For generic play the Athenian and Mercenary pack would serve you well as they come with a variety of helmets. If you want more pilos helms then go for the Mercs, for more Corinthian go for the Athenians.
