Some thoughts on how to paint lots of figures (most Napoleonic, rest Ancients), and a look back at the 1000+ 28mm I did in 2016. Cheers!

Thanks all, and interesting to see in comments people have made on the blog post itself the different ideas people have too. :)

Wow 1000 28mm are really a lot of miniatures.
Compliments.

Nice looking forces. Very impressive painting schedule!

Impressive work rate and a nice piece of counter-intuitive thinking about how long it's worth spending on detailing an individual figure.

I have a tv playing near so I can relax my eyes with something not up close and It keesp track of time cause I have to get up and stretch after each dvd or VHS tape ends..helps keep you going if you get up ever 90 min or so to walk a bit and change the stuff in and out..

Yes, I found on a similar sized binge a few years ago "little and often" worked for me, I used to get up a little earlier every morning and just paint for half an hour or so – straight out of bed and into it, then do the breakfast shower etc…then in "normal" painting times in the evening suddenly I'd find I'd already got stuff done. It hreally helped speed up the process and, crucially, it helped mentally.
