I'm sure this has been discussed before but is anyone using the Hybrid Stealers in their Hulk games?

If so, what rules source are you using. Aside from Deathwing I've only come across the "S.H. Bible" and some homemade rules.

Cheers.

Version 1 was the only set that had the rules for them.
Version 2 and 3 never went further than the base game for official rules.

Yeah, I was hoping what with releasing minis for them for only the 2nd(?) time in 30 years and with the 4th edition Hulk out they might come out with something like the current downloadable campaign expansions on the GW site.

I won't hold my breath though.

Would be nice, wouldn't it? I think, however, homebrew rules are our only option.

I did contemplate using the rules from Grindhouse Games' 'Incursion' to mod Space Hulk; it is really easy to modify as a system, with plenty of special rules and ideas for gunplay from both sides, big monsters, and other assorted fun.

I have an old WD that has rules for using regular Space Marines in SH (probably way out of date for current versions) and I recall there being another issue that did indeed have hybrids in it. Perhaps a dig through some archives and a little tweaking?

Here are the existing rules for what they are Darkest Star:

Unfortunately no shotguns, auto-guns or heavy stubber for Cultists/ Hybrids.

A good starting point for using regular Marines, Guard and Eldar though.

I haven't read or played Deathwatch, so the rules may be in there for that game to have Terminators vs. Genestealers and Hybrids.

the 3rd/4th editions' rules are almost the same as the 1st's (with inclusion of stuff from the extension to match the new material/miniatures) so you could easily use the rules for the hybrid from the 1st ed extension (need to do your own blips), but the new minis don't have the same weapons as a lot of the old weapons aren't available to 40k hybrids or just don't exist anymore (conversion beamer…). You can probably proxy the rules with the new heavy weapons though.
I've been considering getting deathwatch and/or some box of hybrids to add to SH…

The original rules for Hybrids were in the Space Hulk first edition expansion, 'Genestealer' which added Hybrids, and the, I thought very clever and sleek, psychic rules. I still only play this version, but understand the core rules remain the same in the latest version. It should be easy to use the original rules for Hybrids in the latest version, by using the old rules. Deathwing, the first expansion, added a lot of new weapons, it shouldnt be too hard to work out some stats for heavy stubbers, for instance, as there were stats for heavy bolters in 'DeathWing' 'Genesteaker also had an A4 4page sheet, with everything on it you needed to refer to from weapons, to hit rolls, to psychic stats. If you can get the rule book for 'Genestealer' first ed, it'll be easy, all gravy, my son! It must be on the net, somewhere, and I've seen Hybrid 'blips' on E-Bay from time to time.
If you want to this route, mail me on John 'at' John lander 'dot' co 'dot' uk. And I'll see if can scan some rule stuff and send you it?

Hope this helps, man, I love Space Hulk, still, imo, the best thing GW ever released!

And, although showing their age a bit, l love the original Hybrids that came in the 'Genestealer' box. Painted loadsa those badboys over the years, got a few to paint up to put on E-Bay as well.

Thank you John! I couldnt agree more about SH. It always has been my favorite (and most played) GW game.

I just need to pick up some Hybrid blips but I do wish GW would take the step to bring the current Cultist (Hybrids, Neophytes, etc…) miniatures into confluence with the 4th Edition Hulk rules for ease of use.

Time for a new fat (phat?) Stealer Patriarch seated on throne as well.

Cheers.
