Have you?

I have received my English buccaneers, I just went for some models, not the game or ships and now I regret that since I was somewhat broke at the time and the figures are really nice – I could have used some more. The range of figures is pretty large, the ships look really nice too. The sculptors did a nice job of differentiating the factions – the English look English, the Spanish look Spanish, the French look French, while most other pirate figure manufacturers make fairly generic pirates.

Nope but my order was processed on Monday, with an additional starter French box. Can't wait.

Got the rulebook yesterday. Looks interesting and nice production value. Will likely pick up the ships. Not super keen on the figs. If nothing else, judging from the free figure that came with the book, they are more like 40mm than 32mm. Won't mix with any of the other ranges I already have.

Nyet, but I only saw the ad for it just last week, and, "the defense budget" is as non-existent as that for England at the time of the Armada, or their current naval budget now, so……..

Rogues104 Jan 2017 4:18 p.m. PST

@TBeyer can you confirm the scale of the figures? Are they 32-40MM as @Axabrax stated or are they 28mm as advertised in the KS. I was hoping to mix in other 28mm figures I have so I really would like to know. I don't think my KS box arrived yet, but I am interested in the figure size. Thanks.

Their Facebook used to have a size comparison pic I believe

Rogues1, I will measure when I get off work but I know they were over a head taller than my Old glory and Foundry pirates, I also had some Bicorne EWC figs and they were larger than those too. OTOH I really liked the poses, weapon choices, and clothing, they are really nice figs.

I measured a couple of my Old Glory and Foundry pirate figures, standing upright (not crouching) from bottom of feet to top of head – about 26-27mm tall. The B&P figures are about 31-32mm to top of head. They are also bulkier – part of that may be due to some of the B&P figures wearing coats. I hope that helps!

Thanks @TBeyer. Appreciate the feedback. Guess 28mm ain't 28mm (which used to be 25mm) anymore. Not the only folks with scale creep, some awesome Western figures have also had a bit of a growth spurt. We will make it work, glad the figures look good. Thanks again.

Hey guys! Here are some pictures to help with scale questions:

Mini on the left is GW and on the right is Old Glory. Those where the only minis I had on hand here. If you want me to compare to a specific minis line I can do that as I'm pretty sure I own at a bit from every line that has ever made pirates :)

Our minis are on average a bit larger than most historical 28mm. They range from 28mm to 30mm from foot to eye. They are slightly taller because we wanted to get as close as possible to accurate body proportions instead of the typical short legs with big hands heads and feet.

Hope this helps!

Got mine today, the quality of everything is superb!

badger2208 Jan 2017 5:02 a.m. PST

Well it looks like they are creeping this way. I really want to get started on these.

Got English militia. Size is 32mm foot-to-eye and 35mm to the top of the head. Not even close to 28mm, no matter how you define it.

Very nice figures otherwise.

Frantic13 Jan 2017 10:21 a.m. PST

I'm glad you like the look of the figures Askari. I appreciate the feedback on this and wanted to double check just in case our measurements where off. I pulled the smallest (non crouching) and tallest mini from the English Militia box and took some measurements with a caliper. The images are in the link below:

Total height including the base is indeed 35mm on the taller mini, but as you can see they are both less than 32mm foot to eye.

Thank you for backing, and I do sincerely appreciate you brining this up. I definitely want people to have a clear understanding of what they are getting if they are interested in purchasing our minis.

By far best miniatures for the period. Not even close.
