The recent announcement of the demise of the DBx board seems to have been met with dismay. Would you support the retention (if not too late) or recreation (if the board has already gone) of the DBx board as a general forum for discussion? |

I would not support this proposal. Folks who want to post about individual rule sets can use the new boards in the Rules forum, and crosspost as desired. |

Bring it back! There are lots of variants out there that don't fit neatly under the specific official sets of rules, discussions of those variants are now homeless, even with cross posting . |

Create a board for miscellaneous DBx variants. |

I think having the rules as separate boards is better. Threads can always be crossposted. |

discussions of those variants are now homeless Discussions of the variants have been moved to the board for the rules they are variants of. So, for instance, DBA variants are on the DBA board. |

One board to serve them all. |

One board to serve them all.
It's much quicker to scan with only one board John |

I vote for 1 DBX board to cover all the many variants for different periods. |

As a DBXer I would much prefer we keep all DBX on one board and get rid of the individual rule boards. Thomas J. Thomas Fame and Glory Games |

YES! Keep the DBX Board going. There are still a lot of us who play only DBX based games. Terry |

One problem with the DBx board is that DBA and HOTT dominate, and the other rulesets get lost in the mix. |
Ivan DBA | 05 Jan 2017 7:52 a.m. PST |
Why not have a DBx board and all the original boards? And Bill, what I'm saying is there are some DBx variants that are not variants of a particular published game. DBN and DBACW, for example, are a stand-alone Napoleonic game and its ACW variant, respectively. Neither is a HFG variant. |
Thomas Thomas | 05 Jan 2017 11:46 a.m. PST |
The dominance of DBA and to a lesser extend HOTT is a reflection of the large player base. Much bigger than DBM or DBMM. But we are all happy to discuss DBX issues in general across the various platforms. I think most of us whether DBA, D3H2, DBM or DBMM want to stay on one board. TomT |

Would prefer them together, but that's just me. |

DBN and DBACW, for example, are a stand-alone Napoleonic game and its ACW variant, respectively. Then DBN will eventually get its own board, and since DBACW is a variant of DBN, it would belong there. |
Terry37 | 05 Jan 2017 8:39 p.m. PST |
I play HotT and DBN mostly with a few games of DBA-HX, so if DBN became a stand alone thread/topic/subject that would be great for me. But bottom line they are all DBX based. Terry |

As a DBXer I would much prefer we keep all DBX on one board and get rid of the individual rule boards. This. I check almost every day, and it's easier to check just one place. If I DBMM was "getting lost in the shuffle", I would just search for "DBMM". I think that in general TMP has too many categories, and as they proliferate, I miss more and more potentially interesting posts. Mark H. |

Fine with me having specific boards for specific rules. |
Editor in Chief Bill | 08 Jan 2017 12:51 a.m. PST |
There may be a way to create a "mega-board" on the Rules Forum. Any posts to the separate rules boards (i.e, a post to the DBA board) would be auto-crossposted to the DBx board. Posts made to the DBx board would NOT auto-crosspost to the various DBx boards, you would have to crosspost it yourself. Feedback? |
