Seems like a serious waste of a Spit to me.

Does look similar to a "car" my uncle built decades ago though, in a bid for a go at one of those salt-flat, land-speed records.

I think he planned to put a rocket motor into it, instead of a jet turbine. No doubt, rockets were probably cheaper and easier to deal with.

Don't know if he ever tried it, but it was certainly pretty interesting, and no doubt a bit hair-brained too.

Well, the contraption would likely do the loop better than other racers. Sad, though, that a machine meant to soar is grounded…kinda like a caged bird.

Something to toy around with, though :-)

That's a great idea!

Especially since you end up with extra wings lying around for other projects … or in my case, something to do with the extra fuselages!
