Seems like a serious waste of a Spit to me. Does look similar to a "car" my uncle built decades ago though, in a bid for a go at one of those salt-flat, land-speed records. I think he planned to put a rocket motor into it, instead of a jet turbine. No doubt, rockets were probably cheaper and easier to deal with. Don't know if he ever tried it, but it was certainly pretty interesting, and no doubt a bit hair-brained too. |

Looks like something a 1946 007 might be "lent" by Q ! Pop out machine guns? Oil slick generator ? "Please try and bring it back in one piece Bond". |

Well, the contraption would likely do the loop better than other racers. Sad, though, that a machine meant to soar is grounded…kinda like a caged bird. Something to toy around with, though :-) |

That's a great idea! Especially since you end up with extra wings lying around for other projects … or in my case, something to do with the extra fuselages! |

Putting a Merlin engine from a Spitfire into a car? No problem….
