Well I am pleased. I have been good all year so Santa brought me Napoleon's Elite Cavalry, with the Rousellot prints. So many images not reproduced on line is quite a surprise. I had dropped hints for the Osprey British Light Infantry Tactics and the Honour Guards…..got them too.

Thank God no more figures for now

Nice selections, deadhead! Santa ordered the companion Kavaleriya volume of Armiya Alexandra 1 (Leonov, Popov, Kibovskii) for me--he said he was tired of buying Russian uniform references, and this should put an end to that. grin

JMcCarroll25 Dec 2016 9:11 a.m. PST

Coal; had it coming!

My best Christmas Present was getting to watch my Grandaughter (who is 2), open her presents from us via Skype! She is in the USA and the wife and I are in Germany. She went running around the house in her Dutch slippers made to look like wooden shoes!

Jamesonsafari25 Dec 2016 9:31 a.m. PST

A scarf. Guess this little Christmas boy is ordering some belated christmas presents for himself. ;)

Coal; had it coming!

I know what you mean; didn't even get that.

Here I grow a beard as long and as snowy, but I think the old boy heard me say 'Bah! Humbug!' one too many times.

I suppose I'll just have to enjoy remembering the lass at the store who decided I, in my Greek fisherman's cap, looked just like GRR Martin, and snuggled up beside me for a selfie.

Doug

Edit: Come to think of it, as I've just been telling everyone 'Happy Life Day,' I'm gonna guess next year won't be any better…

Kevin in Albuquerque25 Dec 2016 11:50 a.m. PST

Nothing in the hobby. A really nice close up lens for my Nikon DSLR, though. Good for taking picts of minis, really low f-stop for better depth of field.

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP25 Dec 2016 11:55 a.m. PST

Dice. Thank Heaven it wasn't anything I needed to paint.

I now have 12 matching red-orange "Lidless Eye" and 12 matching blue "Tree and Stars" dice--just right to keep a DR/DL "bucket of dice" game rolling along. I also have 12 white "Rebel Alliance" dice with 12 black "40K Aquila" dice coming for science fiction games. Now all I need is a set of rules to go with them. Any suggestions?

Oh. Santa wanted cash in advance. It was that sort of Christmas.

Dynaman878925 Dec 2016 12:13 p.m. PST

Socks – that I bought myself.

Yesterday I bought myself Command: Modern Air/Naval operations and Flashpoint Campaigns for the PC.

Two space marine drop pods

A vacuum-former from MicroMark! I mean, Santa.

Personal logo deadhead Supporting Member of TMP25 Dec 2016 1:57 p.m. PST

Brilliant responses…did not expect that!

Did this go beyond Napoleonics? I did not mean to inflict this any further and did not crosspost

I did not mention the transformed Dad underwear. It seems that, after this Christmas, I must now wear "hipster" beneath my 501s. The label suggests that if you are not hung like a donkey, this is not a good idea. But three sons and one wife all agree that the current look is not to be tolerated any further….

I'll say nowt………

That Rousellot book is inspiring…it seems I did mention it about 6 months ago and the father-in-law noticed and remembered. Bless him…..

legatushedlius25 Dec 2016 2:01 p.m. PST

Food and drink! Yummy! Beer, wine, pork pie, cheese, piccalilli, pickled onions, shortbread, chocolate etc.

A box of Perry goodness, including some Russian cuirassiers, Bavarian light horse and British light dragoons on foot.

A diecast Sherman M4A375.

A pile of high-calorie edibles that will last us till Easter and beyond.

Does a Sprout Catapult count as wargame-related? At the very least, it's a fitting thing to do to a sprout.

A Salt-Powered Robot might come in handy if I get into Sci-Fi, but of limited use in the Napoleonic Wars.

What the hell, as long as we have all stayed safe and enjoyed being with our families…….

I get almost daily updates from a Surgeon working in Idlib, in Syria, never met the guy, but he is genuine…I seem to be his link with sanity. Makes me think anyway…

These responses are great

I did not mention DVDs of latest "Walking Dead" and a dozen other series ( I do this 40 mins thing every night in the garage, on a cross trainer…watching a BluRay player….yeah…I know…..it will make no difference, but, so long as I never check my PSA levels……I will live to be 90+……)

I did not mention a packet of Florentines….Those dark chocolate biscuit things….but bought recently in Florence…by 'er indoors….unknown to me….when my back was turned…….

Now, I must tackle those folk on the bridge at Charleroi 1815….from Gringos40

A big stinking boatload of Hordes trolls. I put like 15 codes in an Amazon cart (hoping for 2 or 3) when she asked me for a list and she got them all! What a woman. Guess I made the right decision back in 1980.

Disclaimer: Wife = Santa. Well, Mrs. Santa.

Great responses…way beyond anything to do with General Napoleone Buonoparte……

Incredible what our loved ones will tolerate…indeed encourage!

I may now start another topic…

The New Year Resolution.

For me….the bridge at Charleroi…I have all the figures sitting here.

Les Gardes d'Honneur

Those early mameluke conversions from Gringos40….just needing painting

The kettledrummers from other Garde units (surprisingly easy….if you just get down to it)

von Winterfeldt27 Dec 2016 5:13 a.m. PST

some very nice uploads and up load links !!!
It is very nice to have such a google jedi master as Steve Smith helping out all the time.

Racked up a lot of loot this year. Napoleonic Scenarios 5, GDBde supplement for the Peninsula (I left my original in Iraq back in 2011. Seven Men of Gascony novel. Finally, my wife saved up the money for me to send 100 figures out to Sri Lanka for painting. Is she a sweetheart or what?

COL Scott ret27 Dec 2016 10:05 p.m. PST

Nothing wargaming related, although if Novus Design puts rivers on sale again….

I did get a High Visibility Jacket for work.
A set of zip off hiking pants, a Trail Fleece and a small hatchet- for hiking/climbing/canoeing trips.

Lion in the Stars27 Dec 2016 10:23 p.m. PST

1.9 ltr hip flask!!!

That's not a "hip" flask, that's a Camelbak bladder!

Nothing Napoleonic, the group has kinda stalled out on that. Did get some 38(t) Katzchen APCs for my Weird War Germans, at least enough for the company HQ and 3 combat platoons. Will still need more for the heavy platoon and heavy company, though.

Otherwise, got Angel Girladez new book for painting minis, Antenociti's Azure Dragon dropship on it's way (delayed due to decals).

That's not a "hip" flask,…

If it's the one I'm thinking, more a trauma plate insert for a kevlar vest. ;->=

You, sir, must have been high in the 'nice' list. Those of us on the 'naughty' side are in awe.
