Well, the cacti are convincingly Mexican.

Of the figures, the Cubans and Boers probably come closest to the correct effect.

Lances weren't used during the Mex Rev.

Those are aip japanese from the russo japanese war. The lancers are WW1 british.

In terms of shape the Japanese field cap was half-way between the Mexican Saumur-style kepi and the later peaked cap.

If these figures were made of a harder plastic you could sand the caps to resemble the first; but everything else about the figures would still be wrong for Mexican Federales.
