I'm planning on putting together a Bolt Action force for both the Afrika Korps and the 8th Army. How well do Perry Plastics and Artistian figures go size wise? Also, are there any other manufacturers that make AK and 8th Army in 28mm?

Do it in 20s, Flashy! You'd be restricted with larger figs for room and sweep on the table.

Perry and Artisan are quite a size difference

Perry are much smaller, and I prefer them. It's a really nice range.

Agree with fred. Go 20mm or 1/72 and never look back…

ok. Well. Look back occasionally at the beautiful Rubicon models coming out these days…

Scratch yer head and think "ah what the heck, it's another model" and buy it!

Italeri makes some nice 1/72 8th army. Plastic Soldier Review is your friend. I understand SHQ matches pretty well with most 1/72 scale figures. So use them for filler, variety and special figures.

Depends what you want. The Perry figures are beautiful, and build up into exquisite models. They won't match well with Artisan though.

Black Tree Design and Artisan work well together in 28mm. BTW usually do a 50% off sale around New Year, making them an absolute bargain.

As others have stated, especially if you are going to go with 28 mm the Artizan and Perry will not match well. I agree with DanWW2 that the Black Tree and Artisan work well together. I have a lot of the Artizan and Black Tree painted up (Both DAK and 8th Army) and have enjoyed many games with them. However, if I had it to start all over again I would go with the Perry stuff hands down.
