Those claymore figs are awesome. But quite limited. So other then claymore and some of the front rank. Who makes good 28mm figures for the crey/pointers period.

Perry Mini's are late 100YW.

Try Front Rank and BTD, both are decent for earlier 100YW period.

I like the OG early period stuff. I've painted hundreds of them. They are inexpensive and work quite nicely.

Look at Wargames Foundry! Many of the figures are Perry sculpts already, and most in the range are suitable for the early period HYW.

Is there really all that much difference?

Not my area of expertise, so just curious.

Is there really all that much difference?

If you mean whether there is difference in the appearance of HYW fighting men between ca. 1350 and 1420, then the answer is yes.

The difference is most significant for the men-at-arms, who adopt full plate armour, while largely discarding shields as personal protection, and emphasising powerful two-handed weapons to better defeat the armour of their opponents. There are also changes in the jupons etc. worn over the armour.

Thank you. I suppose nearly 100 years is enough time for technology and fighting styles to evolve a bit :)

Funny thing is, I never noticed the lack of shields in later troops. I always assumed it was because you so so many two-handed weapons (which it is) but I never did the math of why they tossed the shields for the heavier weapons.

Would earlier armor be completely out of place in later formations?

What I like most about the early/mid 100 years war is the very organic nature of the armor, there is a mix of leather, mail plate. I like that style.

Look at these pavisers, mail, akerton, learther, plate ect.
