I miss very little Armand I saw this one and I find it superb in all things but one. The painting, the sculpture of the figure (no huge hooker breasts, no absurd stripper boots. a sword that is thin enough and light enough to be used by human like that. The paint job is superb, the sculpture is superb. I rate it at an A+ on that alone. The ONLY thing that keeps it from being an A++ is the title. I love the title, but to my mind it interprets as something else. I would pull all the crap from the base, and simply substitute the ruined wreckage of a star-ship, as in a scene several hundred years later where she, a resident of an off-world colonized by humans now far advanced and origins forgotten, she now has had a flashback of the void and her as seeds. Of course that's only my mythos imposed on the figure and the name, but the whole construction is redolent with possibilities. At lest that's what my imagination cooked up. |
