I run a campaign world that is modeled after the idea of Tony Bath's Hyboria – every battle counts and everything is part of the same world. I have D&D and wargames going on in the same fantasy-post-apocalyptic world.

This AAR is for a Chaos Wars game played last night with some friends to determine the results of some probes and skirmishes between Humans and Bestials (Orcs/Goblyns).

Enjoy!

That looked really nice! Fast and furious action. It's great that this is tied to a campaign. Having something extra to influence the battles is a good thing! Cool way to introduce them to Chaos Wars as well.

I just found out Jacob put out book 8. Scenarios and upgrades in it. Good stuff! I truly hope folks give these rules a look. The design system and scenarios alone are worth a closer look. Add in a solid set of mechanics and you have a very good system. I think I'll try out my Partha Greeks with them. Add some fantasy elements and away I go!

Keep up your Chaos Wars posts. I love em!!!!!

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Thanks John. I've had a vision of all all-encompassing campaign world since talking to Jeff "Chirine" Berry about Tekumel and how MAR Barker did it back in the day. Also getting Tony Bath's "Setting Up a Wargames Campaign" was the icing on the cake. I have Hyboria as my northern star in terms of guiding me.

I'd love to have multiple wargames going on with folks playing, but for now, it's mostly solo wargaming with two concurrent Dungeons & Dragons games (one tabletop, one online) going on. I have a wiki that ties all this together.

Book 8 looks very interesting! I've flipped through it and it looks great for the new figures and models from Wave 2.

What was very encouraging was to use a scenario from elsewhere (Thomas's One Hour Wargames) and find that it translated very well to Chaos Wars! I am going to put a guide in my campaign rules on how to translate from OHW's troop types to Chaos Wars' troop types.

Have fun!

PS. Check out the Ral Partha forums. There's some great conversation and it helps to have new folks stopping by to share their battles and ideas.

Yeah, I joined last year after playing ChaoesxWars at Cincycon last year. Looking forward to it this year! Bath's book is great. Hoping to get some painting done over my vacation thru the 2nd.

Merry Christmas!
