Signed up for it when they first offered it. Dropped it. If I remember I was having a lot problems with it freezing up slow load times etc. Maybe they have the kinks worked out by now. |

The comments on Amazon are universally awful: link (the single 5* review is from the WI editor) |

Hi Guys, Just to be clear the comments on Amazon have NOTHING at all to do with Wargames Illustrated Prime. Wargames Illustrated Prime is a service by which members pay £5.99 GBP per month to access every issue of Wargames Illustrated magazine (including the current one) via a web browser – computer, tablet or phone. WI prime members also receive an interactive newsletter (Primetime) every two weeks, with reviews and news on new wargaming products. Members can also access discounts and free products. E.g. Yesterday we made an iBook version of the Gripping Beast rules Sword available free to all Prime members. We also offer an email support service to all WIPrime members should they have any technical queries or problems. To find out more about WIPrime follow the link below or post questions here. wargamesillustrated.net/prime Regards Dan Faulconbridge |

That WI Prime sounds pretty good I'll have to look into it. By the way I've bought hundreds of items on Amazon prime and never had a problem. I did my whole Christmas shopping this year with it. I get call my wargame books from on military modeling or Amazon prime. I've been buying various plastic toy soldiers for my grandkids on Amazon prime. They have everything and give very fast delivery. So why the negativity? I went to the wargames illustrated site and signed up for my one month free trial. It looks pretty good. Especially since the pound is now $1.23 USD. |

So I did join and tried to read the current issue. I can find no link to give me the pdf version. A message to the company came back with an "out of office" reply :( Can any reader tell me how to get the PDF file? Thanks much. |

Hi Bobgnar, Thanks for joining WIPrime. Your Prime membership enables you to view 351 issues of Wargames Illustrated via your web browser. In order to view the latest issue of the magazine – goto the WI homepage – then WI Prime – The Vault – you will see the a cover of the latest magazine displayed there – click on it. At this point you may be asked for your Prime Login details (if you are not logged in already). Our tech support is now closed until the new year, but post back here if you have any more questions. Thoughts? I used to subscribe to several services that used a browser for viewing mags. I didn't renew any of the subs. Using a browser to read magazines online isn't ideal. The browser usually reproduces the page of the magazine as printed. But even with a 27in monitor I found that the page usually needs to be enlarged to read the text. It also means that you are tied to a computer. Overall, not a user-friendly mechanism. The best online mags used an interface designed for computers, rather than trying to replicate a paper-based interface e.g. such as page-flipping animations. Some mags have started giving away a digital sub for free with a printed sub. The best hobby mag I have seen offers portrait or landscape pdf, embedded or linked digital extras. Written by adults for adults. WI prime members also receive an interactive newsletter (Primetime) every two weeks the website implies every two months. link |

With regard to the comments above (all totally legitimate), viewing a magazine online is certainly a challenge, but we think we've come up with a very good platform. The viewer has complete control of flipping pages, can skip around via a thumbnail content list and zoom in and out very easily to view text and pictures close up. In addition to WIPrime we also offer WI Interactive, which is our iPad magazine, specifically designed for a tablet/iPad, with dynamic features like embedded videos and figure spins. The Primetime news letter is 'twice monthly' rather than bi-monthly. Cheers Dan Faulconbridge |

Thanks for all the discussion. Since WIM is here (great!) I'd like to ask if the WI Prime material is available through WI Interactive on the iPad? Or is there some service that gives you all three in one shot?? |

Hi Dave, the short answer to that is no, we don't offer any combined packages, at least not at the moment. We will be looking at this in 2017 but so far our marketing focus has been on offering the three different options/choices: Print, Prime, Interactive. Regards and Merry Christmas! Dan |

Thanks Dan. I enjoy getting a physical copy of a magazine but having access to all the back issues is really interesting. It would be great to have that op5ion. |
