I got the Old Glory Prussian 15mm generals to update my Prussian command. Halfway through painting but there is one (GM Ziethen now)with his right arm straight out to his side and in his hand which he is extending it with looks like a WWII German potato masher grenade. Anyone else have this and what did you make it out as?

You do not say which era or which Zeithen, unless GM = Generalfieldmarschall. This one perhaps?

Warning: the site is a real Java gagger.

Looks like a badly rendered sword in this pic.

Isn't he often depicted with a pipe?

Bashytubits20 Dec 2016 11:14 a.m. PST

Maybe it is a piece of meat he is brandishing about. Generals need their snacks during battle you know.

Napoleoic and everywhere mentions not related to Frederick the Greats freind.

It could be a turkey drumstick

John the Greater20 Dec 2016 1:35 p.m. PST

Maybe it is really a potato masher? Those Germans sure like their kartoffeln.

Upper left is the figure and it looks like its whatever its supposed to be.

JMcCarroll20 Dec 2016 5:18 p.m. PST

He is pointing with a rolled up map?

Or handing a map off to someone.

Zephyr120 Dec 2016 9:37 p.m. PST

No, he's smiting someone on the nose with a rolled up newspaper… ;-)

(Hard to tell what it is from such a tiny pic.)

It looks like a handle with a larger end, for now I gave it a off white as a map but should be filed to a even roll.

I am really pondering to make it a potato masher, it would be my only goofy thing in my armys. I often see these women artillerists and think why not make a battery of them as a wim so why not make it a grenade?

Henry Martini22 Dec 2016 3:38 p.m. PST

Why not indeed; we have irrefutable evidence that hand grenades have been around since the middle ages.

Volleyfire23 Dec 2016 9:36 a.m. PST

Is it a sex toy?

Finish the last general so went back and filed a little on GM Ziethen's hand out gave it a light wood handle and since I didn't have olive drab ( sacrilegious I know but don't have use for that color) a black end as Googleing a potato masher gives plenty of examples of that.

Zephyr129 Dec 2016 3:10 p.m. PST

Mixing black and orange makes olive drab… ;-)

14Bore31 Dec 2016 5:03 a.m. PST

Zephyr didn't think of that and a week ago looked up how to mix raspberry. You can look up how to make colors if you don't have them.
