Not in time for Christmas though… link I wonder how influential Team Yankee was in this version. |

I just read the changes they are doing. Yeah, it looks like Team Yankee was VERY influential. Sounds great!!! They are also doing the same free upgrade that they did when they moved to 3rd Edition. Show up with your old books and get a free paperback copy and the special rules book too. They are also saying that the older lists are usable, but the points range is changing, so they're giving you the conversion stuff you need to keep your current books in play. The game is scaling down points wise with 100 points being a basic force, much like Team Yankee. Plus the game is going to Team Yankee style cards with all the rules and stats on them. Odds are they'll release these for free on the website like they do with Team Yankee. Pretty cool! |

If folks remember back at the time V3 was released Phil was doing some of the final work on what would become Team Yankee. He mentioned then there were several major changes he wanted to make to V3, but held off as so much work had already gone into refining what came to be V3! However, he did say the next version when it came would make FOW a different game from it's previous incarnations! So no one should really be surprised at what comes! Of course once again the Mid War Period is left hanging in the breeze! No surprise in that either! |

How does the free upgrade happen? I have v3. |

When V4 is released you go to your BaM physical store and bring your rule books. They will place a stamp on your old books to show that you've received your copies and then they'll give you the new V4 books. That's what happened when Flames went from V2 to V3. The new books last time were small paperbacks. You'll have to buy new hard backs though if you want them. |

Yea, that will work great for those of us with no physical store to go to. |

I got my previous new addition books through the Warstore in the mail IIRC. |

It's better than the new edition coming out and everyone is hosed. Hook up with someone who does and maybe they can do it for you. I'm 70 miles from my nearest store, but I'll make a trip for that. |
