"The Great Martian War: Breakthrough!" by Scott Washburn is now available for the Kindle. The paperback version will be coming out in a few days (don't believe the February 7th date on Amazon). This is the second book in the first trilogy of the Great Martian War. Learning from the failure of the first invasion in England, the Martians return in 1907 to find an Earth better prepared, but still terribly vulnerable. Book 1 dealt with the initial landings and first battles. Book 2 follows the war as both sides martial their forces for a great conflict. The stories are well researched in the world of the early 20th Century and include many historical figures like Teddy Roosevelt, Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla. Tripods-vs-Steam Tanks! Great fun for gamers and non-gamers alike. link |

Sooner than the February 7th date listed on Amazon. They are being printed now and I hope they will start shipping before Christmas. |

Bought the Kindle version and am about 65% through it. So far I give it a double thumbs up. Out of sheer curiosity, about how many of these are you planning? They're fairly quick reads. |

Well, the plan my publisher and I have right now is to do this in a series of three trilogies. The first trilogy will be the 'Roosevelt' series which deals with the early stages of the war from the American perspective. The second trilogy will cover things from the British perspective, and the third will merge those two story lines into the final phases of the war. We have also taken on a partner who will be writing a second series in parallel called "The Texas Front" dealing with issues in that isolated region. He's working on the first book in that series right now. So our hope is to have 2-3 books coming out every year for a quite a while :) |

Oh, and if you buy the books through Amazon, please remember to post a review. The number of reviews a book gets affects how aggressively Amazon will promote a book, so every one counts! Thanks! |
