Just the chunky BMC style bagged set stuff. My searches have turned up some sources, but the collections are haphazard and the shipping charges are typically over two-thirds the price of the sets!!! Does anybody know where I can find these at a reasonable shipping rate and overall price, with a bit more selection? I specifically need the militia men (typically tan plastic), Continentals (blue plastic), and cavalry (Brit and American both). I'd not say "no" to any grenadiers (with grenades) if these are made, or more British (red) or "Hessian" (black) infantry. Some British (red) artillery would be appreciated, too. I've seen a "Yorktown" boxed set with redoubts which might be nifty, but only from one supplier, who didn't have anything else. It's a bit surprising to me how hard it is to turn up anybody who offers a clear and complete line of these sets. Cheap, cheap, cheap is the mantra for this request! |

Armies in plastic is very cheep if you use their buy 5 boxs and get 8. Shipping is sometimes free, too. No Hessians, though :/ |

Look up "Americana" Souvenirs out of Gettysburg PA. They bought BMC when Bill McMaster passed away. They wholesale and retail and sell all kinds of junk. The Yorktown set has a couple of brown redoubts and some cannons and mortars. You can get these pieces separately. I have bags of the stuff and all of the playsets. Depending on how cheap, I could part with them. |

I've had great service from Gerardo at The Toy Soldiers Depot. He carries the BMC and Armies in Plastic sets too.
His prices on the BMC sets are quite reasonable. link |

Nevinsrip, I'd be more than happy to make a deal with you. Like I said, I am striving for cheap, but maybe I have something worth a trade. Shoot me an e-mail, which is my TMP member name appended to @aol.com. |

The only cavalry I'm aware of that is anywhere close to BMC figures in style are the AWI cavalry sets from Armies in Plastic. They are, unfortunately, entirely inaccurate for the AWI, as all 4 sets wear tricorns. I got some to serve as the mounted element for a Blastoff Bridge game with my grandson. He of course doesn't really care one way or the other, but for my own peace of mind, I went with Young and Lawford's approach and used 1767 Europe as the setting. Chris Johnson |
