If? Are you implying he might be immortal? |
20thmaine | 13 Dec 2016 12:01 p.m. PST |
Well, if he's immortal it's very hypothetical question… |

The aparthicks will start bickering about power, the country will be dragged into a political limbo, weak economy will suffer manifold, personal interest will override everytjhing else, the ruling party will split into factions. People will suffer. Usual stuff. |
Dentatus | 13 Dec 2016 1:31 p.m. PST |
He will eventually, right? I'd like to be wrong, but I suspect the same thing that has happened throughout history whenever a tyrant dies: violence, factions, civil and political strife, economic decline, possible civil war as all the second tier sycophants vie for control and or the biggest slice of the pie. |

same reaction from the corrupted media and leftist politics same as thy did with criminal dictator Fidel death…they 'll downplay the sad truth and celebrate it as a freedom fighter |

One does have to wonder per Dentatus's comment whether there is any way Zimbabwe's economy can further decline without disappearing entirely. |
Winston Smith | 13 Dec 2016 4:18 p.m. PST |
Probably the same thing that happened when Tito died. |

A big party, most likely. |
Martin Rapier | 14 Dec 2016 12:00 a.m. PST |
Yes, a big party sounds good. |

I am afraid Winston Smith is most probably right. The death will lead to a power struggle, if not outright armed conflict between his various henchmen. This will mean they are less able to maintain the oppressive hold the have on the population. Unfortunately any uprising will be split along tribal line and the result will be a blood bath along Rwandan lines. We in the first world have no real conception of how much day to day life in Africa is effected by tribal issues and often fail to take it into account. I am afraid while the death of that odious creature will be cause for celebration the aftermath will not. Fatman |
