Anyone got a copy yet? If so how many figures are required? Regards Alan

Unreadable(?). But I think he means the new rules from Osprey.

It isn't due to be released until next Thursday, although a few advance copies always seem to escape from Osprey. I haven't seen it yet and don't know anyone who has.

Posts from another gaming forum:

Got my copy today. My first view seems to get me not very happy. The army Lists are not complete. The Spain only as British(?) peninsular support, no Austrians, no Russians. As all these osprey-rules it reads like driving on a cobblestone road. The rules seem to be easy, but with a lot of tactical freedom. It works with small amount of miniatures (30). Hope the missing lists will come soon.

Three big nations – Britain, France and Prussia. Waterloo and Peninsular. Several infantry and cavalry units, but not all.

---------------------------------

Have found out more, using the French list as an example, you choose say, a light infantry squad of 4 men and an nco for 45 points, you can buy more men, upgrade them to voltigeurs or 'upgrade' troopers to a musician/standard bearer/captain etc. You have a list of independent officers to choose from a colonel, lt colonel or spy, a colonel can have adcs as well, you can have multiples with one as your overall commander. I'm enthused as the units are small and plenty of scope for characters.

My copy arrived this morning. Not a true skirmish but a large skirmish set (up to 120 figures per side). A few trial games during the upcoming holidays will tell if they are playable or not. Regards Alan

Does anyone know if there is readable version of the link above? The QTS seems quite good.

Played a few games now. Overall the game plays well and gives a good small scale action feel. Trialled a farmhouse outpost defence (a mini la Haye Sainte. Troops in hard cover seemed easy to hit and just had a 5 6 save. Got around that by making them a Difficult Shot to hit in the first place . Otherwise no real issues other than the lack of a QRS. Anyone know if one is yet available? Does not seem to be anything yet on the Osprey site. Regards Alan

In terms of number of figures, it looks less demanding than Sharp Practice. Maybe 40 max a side, a bit like Bolt Action: Musket Action.

Will review the rules when they arrive.
