Greetings from New Jersey

Stepman308 Dec 2016 11:37 a.m. PST

Isn't Jersey the stupid state where you can't pump your own gas?

Poniatowski08 Dec 2016 11:44 a.m. PST

How about we leave Fall-IN! 2017 as…

Fall-In! The Yanks are coming!

Dan

Moe the Great08 Dec 2016 12:15 p.m. PST

I like that theme.

Jersey is just stupid period…..

grtbrt08 Dec 2016 8:36 p.m. PST

I fully disagree with 7th . Jersey is a delight ,a fun small island with lots of History .
NEW Jersey is what you were likely referring to .
There is a difference

Not having to get out in sub zero temperatures to pump gas makes us stupid? Every few years some idiot legislator brings up self service gas and promptly gets what he has coming to him.

Politics, gentlemen--politics. Don't get insulting or personal with someone who might later by your game master.

But while my state does things differently I'll concede there is something to be said for preserving a few jobs for people who won't go far in the "information economy."

Let's disagree in a civilized manner.

One of my godsons is working overnight pumping gas in NJ; he' now making more than he was as a store detective in a big box store there. Don't knock it, if it's making at least part of a living.

Dynaman878910 Dec 2016 12:49 p.m. PST

Politics? You jest sir. Not having to pump gas is practically a religious thing.

Akersminis16 Dec 2016 6:48 a.m. PST

@Stepman3 You can't pump in Oregon either.

grtbrt16 Dec 2016 8:07 a.m. PST

I would tend to think that Robert P. has a handle on this . He does live in a state that is built around providing jobs for the people that won't go far in the information age (only 22.7%) of adults have college degrees and a significant number of them are not from Indiana.

Stepman316 Dec 2016 8:09 a.m. PST

I'm not begrudging anyone making a buck the honest way, but I was taught at 12 how to pump gas and I will continue to pump my own gas. Zero degrees or not…
