Hey all, I am considering a 15mm Lovecraft project for the coming year and need to make a town. To that end, I'll need lots of bits and pieces to liven the place up. Where do you suggest I go to find 1/87th or 1/100th scenery bits? I don't mean houses and full structures---I mean bits and bobs, like window frames, fences, stair cases, fire escapes, doors, rain gutters, gates, etc. I've done some googling but there are so many websites that sell the stuff I'm having trouble figuring out which seller to go to, where the best prices are, etc. Edit: The setting for my game is early 20th century US, though I am far from a terrain purist when it comes to architecture. |

Model railway suppliers, HO = 1/87 or 1/96, N is around 1/140 or 160 IIRC, depending on origin. Walthers is the mega online supplier of everything but Micromark is also pretty big on line for a lot of stuff. Both have fairly regular sales. |

Look for architects model details – 1:100 scale is fairly standard and you should find stairs, various furniture etc |

HO will work well with 15mm, doors will be a little larger (will look 8' instead of 6'). And the pieces won't be too tiny to work with. |

Here are a few such items from HO model suppliers in the USA: These things can get expensive, so do some looking around but a good source of bulk doors and windows is Micro-Mark: link Walthers is a huge supplier of model railroad items, and have their own house brand lines as well, such as these "Cornerstone" items: vintage-fire-escape-kit link modern-fire-escape-kit link roof-details-kit-f748af link caged-ladders-vents-kit link This one really gives that Early 20th Cen. feel: subway-entrance-kit link This is a wonderful source for resin cast details in HO both interior and exterior with that Early 20th Cen. feel link Things like:

Hi, Take a look at the Plastruct catalog (plastruct.com). Railings, ladders, fences, etc. Based in California. |

Granny grating (plastic canvas) can be put to a million uses too: link Cheap. Easy to cut into a myriad configurations (window and drain bars, hand railings, iron fences, lattice work, etc.) with a simple sharp hobby knife on a cutting mat. Use plastic spray paint primer. D |
