Thank you for posting my dear cousin!

Funnily enough I was minded of Jeff Knudson's (War Artisan) and his 'Admirals' rules.

I playtested his modified "Battle of Lagos" scenario a few months ago and can confirm that the 'double envelopment' of the stern is a difficult, although no impossible, think to achieve.

The Admiral Rules do allow you to easily handle 15-20 ships my one person and to play out a 30 ship action in under two hours. They are availible for free here:
