My little boy (age 4) tells me he wants a battleship. In our modern world, is there such a thing as a bathtub-friendly warship toy? He already has a pirate ship but is looking for something a bit more modern (i.e. anything that relies on an engine rather than sails: WWII fine, doesn't have to be a Zumwalt).

Thanks for any suggestions!

A quick search on Amazon for "toy battleship" showed all kinds of possibilities.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, most of what I found at Amazon with that search term was a mix of the Hasbro Battleship game, or detailed scale models of battleships -not quite what I was looking for.

I found one possible item at Toys R Us, will check that out on the weekend.

A better possibility might be the battleship made by Strombecker a long time ago--very rugged, made for the bathtub as well as elsewhere. The prices on eBay run from $10 USD to 5 times that much (ridiculous!)
