Bonjour Chaps,

Despite being primarily a serious Napoleonic wargamer I'm being tempted to return to things 20mm WW2.

But I need help please!

I need some Sexton 25 pounder self-propelled guns for my British chaps in Normandy and would appreciate views as to whether Britannia(Grubby Tanks) are better than "Ready to roll".

Please enlighten me!

Cheers,

Paul

if you fancy doing the easy conversion we have a sexton body for the armourfast shermans.
including crews, it will be out soon.

just noticed the image on the site Paul….not very helpful.

I will go and get one out of stock and photograph it to give you a better idea.

Chris – the photos are upside down. :)

I have two of these kits, nice and easy to put together. They look great.
Make sure you get crews for them as well.

Britannia models are always good but you should also consider Early War Miniatures as they have just brought out the Sexton too. Not currently shown on their website as they are in the middle of a major update and all new releases will be on the updated site, not the old. E-mail them & I am sure they will be able to send you a picture or 2.

I have 6 of them & think the vehicles are great. 2 parts for the Sexton – 1) hull/tracks in resin & 2) a metal gun. You also get 6 or 7 figures per gun which are IMHO below current figure modelling standards – I feel the proportions of the limbs are a little out & detail a little lacking, but still usable. Taking into account that most of the figures will be manning the gun, inside the vehicle most, if not all, of this will be hidden. For mine I have opted to go with the AB miniatures Sexton crews.
