(So far.) Any new recording – it need not be an original song. This is the corollary to this "most hated" one here: TMP link

First, I love a broad range of musical styles so don't extrapolate and think you got me pegged but I do enjoy this one: The Living Sisters "Kadoka, South Dakota": YouTube link

Alas, slightly too early (1990), but still a favorite by AC/DC:

Mistress for Christmas

None – classics for me.

"I hate people" to be precise. Yes it is a real Christmas song.

Please include an option for "ask me again in the year 2101" when this becomes a poll.

Since they re-released "Christmas with Johnny Cash" in 2003 when he died, it's everything on that album.

20th Century (since we seem to be doing that): Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack.

Ummmm, it is the 21st Century……..

I think his point might have been there's a lot of C21 left, so I may not have heard my fave yet. I just assume the "so far" is implied.

Re: Fairytale.
I'm a sucker for a good redemption story. I love the ambiguity of it all and hope for a happy ending. I'll never knkw.

I also choke up if I try to sing along with it.

Not sure about this century, but I've enjoyed the stuff from Bob Rivers,Jeff Foxworthy's "Redneck 12 Days Of Christmas",Bill Engvall's "'Here's Your Sign' Christmas" "Rusty Chevrolet" by Da Yoopers, and a lot of the really funny numbers about the holidays.

I have always loved the voice of Karen Carpenter. Merry Christmas, Darling by the Carpenters puts her voice front and center. It is a beautiful song.
