"In TV news, by now you've probably heard that it has been confirmed that Michelle Yeoh will, indeed, star in new STAR TREK: DISCOVERY CBS series, and she will be Captain Georgiou, the Starfleet Captain of the Starship Shenzhou. But two more cast members have been added to the series which will be set in the early days of Federation's exploration of wider space. Anthony Rapp will appear in the regular cast as Lt. Stamets, a gay astro mycologist, fungus expert, and Starfleet Science Officer aboard the Starship Discovery. Doug Jones will be Lt. Saru, a Starfleet Science Officer and a new alien species to the Star Trek universe. To air in May, the series will have a female commander as the lead character" From Hollywood Spy.

Excellent news! Let's keep all the PC stuff in Star Trek where it belongs and just let me enjoy my Star Wars. |

Star Wars already has a gay character, at least one. Possibly more. I don't think any show up on-screen (its in the novels) but now that ALL is canon… Damon. |

Garand, I absolutely don't give a rat's but if someone is Gay or not. I just don't care one way or the other. What I hate is getting lessons form Hollywood celebretards when all I want to do is watch cool space battles. I have read a bunch of the novels and some are good and others bad. After the first series, Star Trek has just seemed kind of preachy to me. VCarter, yup always figures that about C3PO |

> After the first series, Star Trek has just seemed kind of preachy to me. Hate to break it to you but TOS was preachy as heck too. The "Kirk Speech" is a known catch phrase for a reason. |

Star Wars already has a gay character, at least one. Possibly more. Who really cares? The thing is the writers will make every attempt to make this the major aspect of the show. Sure the original show push Social Justice stuff but in today's Hollywood they will destroy the show because they believe that this should be the main aspect of the show. Thus I will not watch any of it. |

I'm with Sir Walter Rlyeh. All I want to do is get away from the PC junk. Even Supergirl has become a gay love story with Supergirl as a backdrop |
