If you've come looking for Marty McFly, you're in the wrong place…

However, if you want to see a rather nice range of 28mm retro sci-fi figures that resemble certain science fiction comic book characters AND are very reasonable, pay my blog a visit – I can guarantee you won't need a DeLorean to get there.

Dude, I am so sorry you don't get any support for your gaming from your spouse :-(

As I've been involved in the hobby since my early teens (I'm 47 now), been married for 22 years and have managed to post to my blog almost every week for coming up to 2 years, I think I'm winning.
But thanks for your support – comments like that just underline what a great hobby this is.

I think I'm pretty lucky there-- my wife thinks my hobby is "cute" and built me a Man Cave (ostensibly to get all my junk out of the main house). But I knew she was the one for me when she walked into the game room when we first were dating, crouched down by the table which was set up in the middle of a 28mm ACW game, and said, "Have you ever LOOKED at this from this angle? It looks so COOL!" Sigh. She gets me. 8)=

Thanks for the link to that site, CC! I don't often see whole catalogues of items I have never even heard of before and these guys carry bunches of things I want. I just spent the last 15 minutes going through many of their lines. Like Christmas in July!

Wives can be pretty cool about this stuff. My better half has never complained about my Marx Playset collecting.

While I was painstakingly setting up my first Fort Apache she walked into the room, looked at it, and said "that's not how you play with toy soldiers. This is how you play with toy soldiers". And making PEW…PEW…PEW noises she knocked my soldiers off the catwalks one by one! LOL

No problem, Nazrat. I liken my Internet searches to panning for gold – time-consuming but you do often find undiscovered treasures. Why spend huge amounts buying into the latest 'fad', when companies such as these produce nicely sculpted figures at the fraction of the cost of either bigger companies or those that have licenced properties? One of my previous posts on my blog explained how to play Bushido on a budget, by downloading the free rules and cards and using proxy figures. Obviously, it had to be called Budgeto…

I love the GrimJack figure. I was a huge fan of First a comics in the mid 80s and he was one of the best!
