I like the Star Wars Armada ships FFG has put out, but found the rules to be OK, just not my cup of tea. I've been considering using the ships to play Starmada or other build-your-own ruleset like Full Thrust. However, if I do so, I'd like to use bases other than the FFG ones, as they are very much married to the Armada system. Is anyone making a generic hex or square base that can accept the Armada stands? Or has anyone found a generic base and stand that can be made to fit the SW Armada ships without too much conversion? I would like to not permanently change the ships, as I'd like to retain the ability to use them in Armada again in the future. Thanks in advance for any help! ~Brian |

Use standard flight bases and magnets |

I'd tend to agree. Depending on who you get them from (you can also check out LITKO) they maybe clear or black plastic, some have an " X " molded at the base designating (bow, stern port, stbd). The real 'trick' for the larger ships, SD's, will be getting the miniature 'centered' just right for balance. |

Firestorm Armada uses clear acrylic squares with a hole in the center, and 4 90 degree arcs, plus a plastic peg. |

Space Ghost I would like to not permanently change the ships, as I'd like to retain the ability to use them in Armada again in the future. I got to looking at pics and think "Thats" going to a real problem. Imp. & Victory SD's, Home One, use a 'narrow stem' type of support and not the simple peg type of stand. I guessing about 1/2in. at the base and 1/4in. where inserted in the miniature. Again this is for the larger ships. I think some smaller ships use the more traditional plastic peg stand. IF so, your going to have to get very creative, or just go w/ the bases they come with it seems. Good Luck |
