I had a old 15mm cossack mounted on a horse. Recently found it again and while I have 1 or 2 others I glued onto the wood stand thought wohld it be possible to make a metal one. Took aluminum foil and made a small form, used previously used solder and keep putting bits in my form and heating till I had enough. Heated again and using a flat screwdriver formed it more. Taking it out of form heating it again enough to press figure into it. Reinforced contact points with Superglue. It came out more like a rocky base than the usual smooth base. I could have used new and it might have came out smooth as there would not have been contaminants in it.
