Hello again all,
Sorry for posting here but I can't find the Aeronef Crosspost.

I decided to build my own Imperial Skies ships to have more personalised fleets.

3mm White PVC sheet ( though Lollipop wooden sticks can easily be used also ) , Empty Ball pen ink tubes for funnels & sprue turrets. Very fiddly to build but I think well worth the work.
With hindsight , my advice would be to get turret sets from Brigade , as I had done with the planes & bombers ( which are too small to scratchbuild anyway ).
I used the same Ship model dimensions found on the Brigade site. My first 3 models represent a Torpedo Nef ( 23 x 8 mm ) a Patrol Nef ( 38 x 12 mm ) & a Cruiser ( 64 x 18mm ). Now all I need to build is a Battleship & an Aircraft Carrier.

Enjoy & may you be Inspired

Nice work. I modified a number of Houstons ships and some from Irregular to get some other styles of nefs for Aeronef. Have not looked at the Imperial Skies rules as yet. Based on my modifying and scratch building experience it seems like a lot of work which is only justified if you don't want to buy your ships (I tend to be lazy). Lots of fun though.

Thanks Allen.
Yes scratchbuilding is fun & rewarding but it is also justified by simply wanting different models. It feels good building your own.

I didn't like the French carrier too much, so I built this..

Paint is coming soon.. I need to dust off the airbrush.

What ARE those cylinders?

At first I thought 'disposable razors', but no. Then, cigar tubes, but either it's a BIG carrier, or tiny cigars…

but I can't find the Aeronef Crosspost.

I'd think the closest would be VSF, though the IS rules move into Edwardian. ;->=

Having gotten Austro-Hungarian ships, I'm encouraged to tart up some square-ended disposable cutlery. Cheaper than Houston, I'm thinking I'll use some parts of pre-dread Panzerschiffe.

@ zrunelord

Nice scratchbuilds! The other sub-forum to crosspost these to, would be the Victorian SF sub-forum wink

They are cigar tubes, and it is a big carrier.. but look up the dimensions of the WW1 Zeppelin. It's shorter than those at 1/1200. And the cigars were Cuban :)

Thanks all,
Glad you like them. I made a new post in VSF.

I have posted more pics. This time of a Battleship & an Aircraft carrier.

That's a cool carrier ( a huge flying monster of a ship )Khusrau.

Enjoy

I started on 'a gunboat' tender using a 1/1200 WWII aircraft carrier model, inverted.

I think it's too big to be other than an 'objective', but an amusing one, nonetheless.
