Wanted to share this blog post with others interested in the M51 used by the IDF in 1967 on the West Bank and 1973 on the Golan. A great vehicle that gamers have several choices to choose from.

I own some of the Quality Castings ones, I've always had a soft spot for tanks with crazy guns.

So do I take it there is not a lot of interest in the M51or in AIW battles?

I am a huge fan of the M51. That being said, the Command Decision and QRF were major disappointments. Weird sizing/casting "squashed" looks, poor casting/track gaps, etc.

I picked up some Battlefront ones in a box set (on clearance, too!) and am well pleased.

I've found that a lot of the pre-2010s 15mm resurgence companies are of the mindset of "as long as it sort of looks like it, it's good", but that's not cutting it anymore. When GHQ 1/285 stuff looks better, but you're charging almost as much as Battlefront, there's an issue.

So true, I think Battlefront did a great service in making great looking models. It has brought the hobby up a notch. That was one of the reasons I was impressed with the M51 from Gaming Models, it was so superior in design and easy on the wallet for those off items.

For the record I believe I also picked up the Battle Front M51 at a discount table.
