Hi, Does anyone have a preference between these two? Thanks, Furgie |

Perry by about 182% In brief: 1) the relief of Warlord figs is very low – at first I thought this would make painting them easy but actually it's a very unsatisfying experience. 2)- warlord hands are infamously clublike. 3)- warlord sets contain metal commands. Again, I thought this was nice at first, but what am I supposed to do with these standard bearers' massive closed fists with no hole drilled through? Oh, I'm supposed to buy some kind of dentistry drill which can bore a hole small enough apparently. 4) Some of the Warlord command figs are nice but some are a bit lumpen and unimpressive – not as hilariously bad as their metal Rifles set but certainly not on the same page as Perry's exquisite command figures. Don't even get me started on the Warlord "Hannovarian" box. I'm going to sell all the Warlord figs I bought soon and use the money to buy more Perrys (or Victrix or Calpe). Life's too short to waste your time painting 2nd Dvision figs.

Personally it was a pose thing, prefer the marching pose of Warlord to the Perry firing line. |

Warlord: Easier to assemble. Pose makes painting chest area easier. Metal command quite good (yes you have to drill out hand for standard poles). Less figures in a box, now. Separate boxes for pre and post 1812 uniforms. Clubby hands, as previously mentioned. Perry: More poses available. Better proportioned figures. More figures in the box, including a sprue of Rifles. Can be pre or post 1812 uniform versions. Can be more awkward to paint, depending on pose. More assembly required, nowhere near as much as Victrix though. Overall I prefer the Perry figures but find I can turn out a unit of Warlord figures faster. |

I have painted many Perry and Warlord Napoleonic plastic box sets over the last few years and I would pick Perry any day over Warlord. |
