Not being familiar with their uniforms and gear, can the French figures be painted as anybody else? |

Make? Scale? Era? For 6mm figures probably get away with it, 28mm may have very specific French features ( e.g, bellybox) which other armies may not share. |

I'd suggest you look into Spanish and Italians types, however as Steaming Dave wrote it will mostly depend on size and specific period. |

Assuming you're talking about regular infantry, some western Reichsarmee contingents (though Austrians are probably better), or Swedes. |
