I do not play fantasy very often. I am mostly a solo player but do really like face-to-face play. My mate Andy and I got together a few days ago to play Dragon Rampant.

He had already played a couple of games but it was new to me. I do not have a lot of painted fantasy figures but Andy had just enough to deploy two Lord of the Rings based warbands.

There was no magic or quests and it was a case of line them up and advance. Loads of fun, even if I lost very, very badly.

A battle report of the game is here:

Looking good mate. LADG or Triumph next game?

Cheers Andy

Well presented. I just picked up those rules at Fall In, and I have hopes.

It's a solid ruleset. I've found it hums along best with about 30-40 figures per side.

Very nice!
I'm enjoying these rules for Middle Earth too

Andy – leaning towards Triumph. While I really want to play ADLG, Triumph is the new shiny so maybe we should give them a go. We have only just bought them, so they are newer and therefore need to be played first. lol.

I do like them for Middle Earth games – they are well suited to them.

Great report – your terrain is much nicer than ours!
