Hope someone can help with a flag question: When 2 or 3 battalions of the same British regiment were deployed in the field at the same time (Ex.: 3/27th Foot at Salamanca), did each battalion carry the identical King's and Colonel's Colours, or were there differences in the standards to distinguish the separate battalions?

Well GMB designs does separate flag packs for each battalion so i guess the answer is there were differences.

There were subtle differences which varied from regiment to regiment. Some had a Roman numeral, some had a flame in the corner and some had a 'banner' giving the battalion. I am afraid that you will have to research the specific regiment.

It's a King's Colour and a REGIMENTAL colour, (not Colonel's) BTW.
basically the Battalion's flags were identical from what I've been able to conclude
