Since there's no 10mm forum… ;) Motivated by a Heavy Gear painting competition I decided to pull my mechas out and paint at least one of them. It's been a few years since last time and I had to update the painting scheme as well, so two birds with one stone! While I have a ton of other stuff that I should paint first, I look forward to going back to Heavy Gear at a later date to paint some resistance for my Northeners. Indeed. I always preferred the HG aesthetic over Battletech's. HG mechas have a distinctive and uniform anime style whereas Battletech mechs tend to be more disparate in styles. |

Cheers guys! It was a fun (and quick) little project. Very much agree with you, 28mm – while I like Battletech and its universe well enough Heavy Gear has always made much more sense from a realism standpoint. The combined arms aspect is also really cool as Gears (and Striders) are NOT the one and only top military pinnacle but simply new tools of warfare. A tank is still a tank. :) |
