I just recieved my shipment of Spanish Armada 1/2400 ships from Strange Cargo Games. The ships are small! However with that being said, there is a good amount of detail. I immediately opened up FR23- Spanish Large Urcas (hulks). I cleaned and primed one along with it's 2 seperate sails. I needed to enlarge the mast holes in the hull so that the masts would fit better. The masts fit and were fixed in with some crazy glue and appear very sturdy. There was virtually no flash or mold lines. To paint/assemble/base time was about 30 minutes total for one ship. I will try to take a photo of the finished product for anyone interested. While small, the ship looks like something out of an Errol Flynn movie (but actually accurate!). Anyway, if you have an interest in this period and don't have a large budget or alot of space, these tiny ships are highly recommended! |

What rules are you going to use? I've got a bunch of the ships and have been thinking about a modified set of "General At Sea" rules. Dan |

Not trying to hijack the thread but... How good are the Figurehead range of 1/6000 ships for Russian-Japanese War? |

Not trying to hijack it? Then don't hijack it! Throw your off-topic comments to another discussion group and do your own posting! I jest of course...but seriously if you ever hijack another one of my threads I will hunt you down. Again I jest! The RJW stuff is good, but tiny. I like them, but decided to go with 1/3000 War Times Journal ships for small squadron actions.... Now BACK to topic....I plan on using a modified Man o'War from Games Workshop. I am going to rework the templates and stuff. Maybe put some of the Spanish Captain stuff in there for flavor. |

My main complaint about the range is that the English ships are too small, or, more correctly, none of the larger English ships seem to be represented. Other than that I'd agree that they are a good range but now very overpriced since the manufacturing went Stateside. Tony H |

Basileus...seriously, I meant no offense and my comments were meant in complete jest. The bottom line is that this is a forum for us to share ideas...if I can help you with any more opinions of the RJW stuff, let me know and good luck! |
