I wargame with a group in the Pittsburgh area at Legions Hobbies & Games the first and third Wednesdays of the month. I ran a 54mm Zulu Wars game this last Wednesday.

Rules used were Two-page Skirmish Rules by Steve Winter.

The scenario was based on Scenario 9, "Tables Turned" from Scenarios For All Ages by CS Grant & SA Asquith.

Ten Zulus were being pursued by 20 British infantry when after one move they faced 30 more Zulus who came from the flanks and rear. The British players decided to fight it out instead of retreat and quickly lost over 50% of their men and became out numbered.

At the point we ended the game, the Brits weren't going to make it off so it was a Zulu victory.

Descrection will keep you alive longer.
This brings to mind the line from the prequel film, "Zulu Dawn". The battle is Islandwana.

The scene: a british artillary officer makes the observation:
"..bullets run out, those bloody spears dont!"
