In a number of games, like Infinity and Warmachine/Hordes, the facing of models is critical. One thing that really helps those games move along and avoid debates is marking the front & back arcs on the bases. To do that quickly & super accurately, I've designed simple guides for various base sizes.

For those with access to a 3D printer, I've posted the designs as a free download on Thingiverse:

For everybody else, I just launched a very small Kickstarter to produce copies in resin:

If you're interested take a look, and please help spread the word!

Why not just paint lines on the edge of the base showing the arcs? This is used all the time in aircraft and spaceship games.

This is a template for doing just that. More accurately.

(If you don't want to paint all of an arc.)

Like Chris said, it's just a simple template to do exactly that. I had been painting marks by hand myself and then got to wondering "How accurate are these arcs really?" Turned out they were very close, but with the template they're exactly right and you don't have to do any careful eyeballing, retrimming, etc..

Definitely not some world shaking innovation, just a handy little helper.

Ah. I thought that they were intended to clip onto the bases and remain in place during the game!

No worries, the picture above does look sort of like that! But no, nothing that silly :)
