Evening all,

Last weekend the 248 ships (Queen Mary and Indy stayed in the box) of Project Jutland made it onto the table at FIASCO at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

A great time was had by all and I had chance to speak to a lot of people who have followed the Project on this blog, my apologies to those I didn't get to speak to as I was already chatting to someone else, I reckon there was only about 20 minutes in the day when I wasn't chatting to someone.

Lots of pics on the blog of the full set up. Back at the Armouries again in a couple of weeks when dice will be rolled !

Outstanding effort. I trust the Hun was suitably chastised.

Those are nice models Ken. I like the flags on the table end too. That's an advantage of WW1 gaming: no flags that are going to cause anyone to throw a wobbler… wink

I hope it all went well!

Cheers everyone,

Shagnasty, it was just a static display this week, the Hun is in for it next time.

Ta John, great day thanks, someone did state the Ensign was the wrong way round for display (which I knew) was either that or a bulldog clip over the Jack. Flags always an argument.

Splendid display – I hoped you spliced the mainbrace at some point?

Really love seeing all those ships on the table.

Re: the mis-matched table heights, a fellow gamer always used to set up with interlocking foam tiles (the ones people use for standing/kneeling on hard floors, or dollar/pound stores have for kids play areas) under his naval cloth, they effectively evened out the tables. Might be a lot of tiles for your big table though!

An absolutely splendid sight Ken! If I can get up to Leeds for the 12th I will do – I would so love to see these fleets in action.

"A Grand Day Out" …. at sea …. no doubt made more salubrious by the company of the faithful companion Gromit and having a generous slab of Wensleydale at hand!
