The first in mine and Chris Pringle's scenarios for the 2nd Balkan War. Indeed from what I am aware off, the first ever miniature wargaming scenario for a 2nd Balkan War battle. After the victory at Kilkis-Lahana, the Greek Army of Macedonia advances towards the Bulgarian border. The high ground around Djoran-Diorani Lake is an important impidiment to that advance. Held by two brigades of the 2nd Division, they are attacked by the III and X division fo the Greek army. After a sharp and bloody battle the Greeks overrun the Bulgarian positions. This is smaller scenario than the standard in Bloody Big Battles, so it should be playable in an evening and with a normal collection.

Good work, Konstantinos! One of these days I will try one of your Balkan Wars scenarios (using my Great War mid-east figures). Perhaps when our Franco-Prussian war game is over.

I have a friend, born here in the USA. His father gave him the name Charles so he would have a good American name. He then proceeded to call him Kosta which is what everyone knows him as.

Yeah, they used to do that back then. The pressure for assimilation and refusal to learn new languages, or to learn to say a name correctly, was strong so a lot of people gave up their names for more , Americanized ones (Koreas also do it). I was Gus in the USA when I was a small kid (there was even a song they sung, Gus ,Gus get in the Bus). Gerasimos becomes Jerry (so you have to have a anglicised Jewsih name rather than attempts to anglicise a Greek name). Konstantinos becomes Gus, Stelios-> Samm etc. I always made attempts to say my students original names, and only stopped if they told me to use their Americanized ones.
