For those of you with an interest in early war bombing scenarios, the RAF's Manchester bomber is now available from Shapeways in 1/600th scale, in a four-pack, for just over $10. USD

I wrote Echoco and asked him to rescale it, since he'd produced them in 1/900th scale, and he kindly and quickly agreed.

So, if you like a challenge of flying early war bombers with very poor engines, on sorties against the Germans, give them a whirl.

Haven't seen these in person yet, but the 3-D artwork looks nice.

The ill-fated Manchester was eventually upgraded with a larger wing, and more and better engines, to become the Lancaster, which was one of the best heavy bombers of WWII.

At first glance I thought Lindberg had retooled this:

Echoco does good stuff, I have some of his other a/c. My completeness obsession will mean I'll need to get these when I do my next Shapeways order.

He's got a lot of other 1/600th scale stuff on offer as well.
