For those who have a copy of the Iron Maiden supplement handy, can you please look up for me how many Chieftains a tank troop (what we yanks call platoons) can include? I know a British Armoured Squadron can have up to 4 troops of Chieftains, but does a troop allow you to field 2 or 3 tanks or is it 2, 3 or 4? Also, does the command element allow you to field up to 2 vehicles like the Americans? Thanks in advance.

This is a TY rules question and not a real world one.

A Troop would consist of 3 vehicles. 4 Tank Troops were trialled very briefly in the early 80s in a couple of Regiments, but the trial did not last long,

2 or 3 tanks per troop.

And the squadron HQ can have 1 or 2

Thanks all.

So 14 Chieftains in a full squadron: 2 in the HQ and 4 troops of 3 tanks.

If you're feeling highly motivated.

Me? I'm still very tempted to do Berlin Brigade rather than BAOR.

BB should be fun to paint.

I'm thinking of doing a full squadron of Stillbrew Chieftains, but that's a whopping 98 points alone.

Berlin Sqn, 4 Tps of 4 and 2 in SHQ,

Thanks, Nick, though I'm not sure I want to field that many. I assume there were also CVR(T)s?

The challenge with Berlin Brigade is getting the camo identical on all the vehicles of each type.

None with the Armd Sqn, The Inf had Fox. Somewhere I have a photo of some QDG in Berlin with CVR(T) Scimitar, probably on a visit in 1988. They are standard Green and Black.

dang, for some bizarre reason I really love those CVR(T)s. Decisions, decisions…

Maybe no CVR(T)s permanently in Berlin- but you do get the FV432 with Fox or Scimitar (not sure which) turret which no-one else had.

Recoilless rifles in the city? Bet that did not make many AT gun crews happy…

Just seen some phots of the D&D at Sennelager down from Berlin in the mid 80s, 432s in Berlin Cam, Foxes in green & black,
