I am particularly taken by the quality of modelling/casting of the loader with his fixed round. Be sure to place him on the left of the gun (facing forward). Otherwise it is just begging for him to insert this the wrong way round.

Stress he is not in the act of loading! He is approaching the gun or standing ready. Actually, as they are clearly just about to fire, very much the former.

The spongeman must face rear, (entirely appropriate of course….I would!) as he is leaning away from the gun and will be on its right.

Oh more than that…..

They are a "masterclass" in painting.

After several looks, I had not even seen the stripes on the bicornes. I just saw the 3D relief effect. Photography is incredibly cruel. I would bet that, under natural light, these are even better.

The officer is, of course, an idiot, what is he meant to be doing? Yet every range shows some such, with one arm raised, waiting for the instant that will be just right, to hit this massive target, that may just be moving, but only at walking pace!

Love those figures. They look good based with their guns.

Now that is a battery I would not mess with….are they 12 pdrs or bigger? Not one to charge with unsupported cavalry! 18pdrs?

I can see the benefit of randomly placing the crew for variety, esp as you only have 5 figures to work with. Do ask the loader to stand a little further to the side (ideally left of gun) as he is handling a highly dangerous ready-use round, well within the flash zone of a gun about to fire.

Honestly, only teasing. These are great. All my artillery figures are within millimetres of the back of wheels of a gun about to fire. Not a good idea in those days.

And you were right. "Spanish sun" makes me feel warmer just looking at your pics

Elite Miniatures guns are all huge – I think these might be the 8pdrs. I try to make all my batteries four guns – then if I play a Black Powder game I can split it up into two batteries. I think the bases are 50x100 and I could barely fit the guns and crew on.

Very nicely done indeed.
