[Grrr Photbucket isn't working again. I'll post the pictures a little later again.]

SESSION 37: WE'RE COMING FOR YOU MAGOR

During the interrogation Risandor reflects on the new party member Asmara. Damn stupid do goodie cleric with all her fancy healing powers and stuff. Risandor looks at Asmara and feels an unfamiliar emotion, jealously. Life must be so easy for clerics, he muses. Breeze in, do good stuff, read from a heavy book and heal people with the mere shake of a symbol and name drop of a god.

When you're a halfling raconteur who dabbles in the arcane, people want to enslave you, tell them a story, sneak about like a thief or cook dinner. Where's the thanks.

At least she saved Uthalin and the men……hmmm all that excitements made the little halfling hungry. Distracted he sits down and has some oat cakes while everyone interrogates the orc. I do speak orcish, he muses to himself, maybe I should check what he said about the numbers and how is Magor.

As Uthalin is healed he feels his strength return. He can hear the guttural sounds of an orc talking. Looking over he sees Halee and Thomas talking to a filthy, elf kissing puke for brains orc. Not only that but it looks like one of the orcs that was there when Cord was killed.

Halee asks again "So is it 6 or 10 male orcs left? Does that include…."

She is interrupted by a large dwarven waraxe bifurcating the orcs skull.

Covered in gore, Halee looks over her left shoulder at the grinning Uthalin. "Interrogation over. Let's kill the rest of these clan less, rat eaten tunnel worms!!!"

Thomas starts to shake and walks off "Why all the killing, why."

Baby Cord runs in and starts to lap up the brains and gore of the recently deceased orc. He's getting stronger.

The party get together and quickly discuss tactics. They decide that they'll go after Magor first. The northern corridor will be better to contain the orc numbers and should they rally out and attack the party and they might be able to set some caltrops and use tangle foot bags in there. They discuss whether they should up end the tables to form barriers but decide not to as it would create too much noise and might alert the rest of the orcs [and the DM would waste 20 minutes trying to work out how to photoshop it].

They sneak off with the more quiet members leading the way followed closely by the rest of the party.

As they approach the corridor that hopefully leads to Magor, Halee can hear a lot of squabbling, bickering and grunting sounds coming from the west. That sounds like a hell of a lot more than 6 to 10 orcs down there she thinks to herself. Some of them sound female or young though. Perhaps it's the main den.

Uthalin hears the noise too and starts to become agitated. Ansic puts his left hand on Uthalins chest and waves his right finger from side to side and then presses it against his lips, trying to get the big dwarf to get himself under control and not to make too much noise.

They round the corner and are confronted by a long corridor that splits two ways and has a funny little alcove at the end.

Continuing up the corridor Halee looks to the east and the west.

Halee sees a large oak door at the end of the eastern corridor whilst the western corridor continues. She deduces that behind the door is probably the store room that the orc had mentioned. She figures that its probably not too risky to leave that behind them and that Magor is probably to the west and he is the more important objective at the moment. Besides she knows that once they defeat Magor they've got another way out, through the secret room. She motions the others to follow.

Going up the corridor they soon find what they think is Magors door and they stack up with the big fighters at the front, spell casters in the middle and a rear guard protecting the corner from behind.

Asmara is making a mental note to pay attention to Thomas – that shaking could be a sign of trauma – but right now she's hefting her scimitar and whispering a prayer to the Goddess…

Yea, let's do this… Halee has Morningstar in hand, tanglefoot bag in the other. She can change weapons during a move action to the bow if it turns out that is a better choice.

Uthalin, I have some options for that eventuality, but I hope we have this under control. Sadly, Magor will have recovered from the wounds we gave him last time we met….but we can pay him with interest for our hurts!

I have greatly enjoyed reading this series. One of the few reasons why I check here every day!

Davoust, thanks for the encouragement. I'm loving doing it and the guys seem to be enjoying it.

I did the pictures up a day or two so I'll change the deployment a bit to reflect the comments above and I'll get into the next session.

It's Friday night here in Aus now so I'll probably do it tomorrow morning when I get up.

ALL HAIL MAGOR!!!!

Well, since the displacement of troops is where it is…

Halee puts away the Morningstar, breaking out the bow and keeps the bag of gooey sticky mess as the primary in case a prime target (Matriarch?) comes out the east door.
