Ether drake has totally distracted me from all the things I should be doing by starting this TMP conversation about Celtiberian panoply. As usual, this prompted me to initiate a flurry of web searches, this time concentrating on the work of Dr. Fernando Quesada-Sanz, a professor and archaeologist in Madrid who's written a number of revisionist papers on pre-Roman Peninsular history already sitting on my reading pile. Today I bumped into this article I hadn't seen before: I've only skimmed the introduction so I can't offer an evaluation, but I thought others here might also like to know about this. - Ix |

Glad you found the references useful. Quesada-Sanz is probably one of the best sources for ancient wargamers for Iberia, though note that his work seems pretty much confined to the southern and eastern coast of the peninsula, Iberia proper. His book on the ancient arms and armour of Iberia is reportedly one of the best out there, though the English translation has just been pushed back to next year. His academic papers (see his site or academia.edu) offer a handy summary in the meantime. TMP link He's also active amongst re-enactors on Roman Army Talk. Look for posts by Thersites. |

Thanks for posting. I was waiting for the book to arrive after my good wife ordered it for me whilst on holiday. Look forward to the release in 2017. |
