Any idea how well Pendraken Vikings and Saxons would mix with the Kallistra range? Would they mix well on the same base? Pendraken – link Kallistra – link Cheers! |

I don't have those particular ranges, but I do have figures from both manufacturers' late medieval ranges and I would certainly not put them on the same bases. Pendraken are at least 2 mm smaller in height, Kallistra figures are about 14mm overall. We play WoTR with opposing armies of Pendraken and Kallistra, that's fine. I like both manufacturers products, but for any particular force I stick to one manufacturer- my Mongols, Serbs, Romano-British and Saxons etc are all Kallistra, my WoTR are Pendraken. |

Thanks. I have the 17th C. rats (fantasy range obviously) from both with are largely the same figures sold on liscence, so I hoped the other ranges would be compatible. Then I saw that Kallistra say they are 12mm figures… so thought to ask. Bit sad, as I quite like the Kallistra Saxons. |

I don't have any experience with those specific figures, but unfortunately Kallistra seems to be its own unique scale, not really fitting with other 10mm ranges in general. |

WOW. They really are incompatible. Thanks a lot Steamingdave47, that could have been a costly mistake (relative to my gaming budget). Cheers. |

Irregular 10mm are more compatible with Pendraken, if you are looking for more variety. |

Not sure that Irregular would be a good mix on same base as Pendraken. I have some of the Irregular " 18th century" cavalry. I like the figures, but they are definitely slighter in build than Pendraken figures. Looking at the painted examples of Dark Age figures on the Irregular website suggests this range is of similar design. Pendraken figures do tend to be a little on the "chunky" side and have more sculpted detail, which does, of course, make them easy to paint. Old Glory do a Saxon range, but I have never seen them. I do have some if their Markburians, which I use as a rear rank with Pendraken as front rank. Personally, if you don't already have figures, I would go for Kallistra. Nice sculpts and their "6 for 5 deal" would give you 192 infantry for £30.00 GBP, which is a pretty sizeable warband by any standards |

No, I already have two other 10mm armies (Pendraken and Magister Militum/Pendraken) and the first two units of Pendraken Saxons done. I was just after a bit more variety of Saxons.
