Nice mini – stupid axe. I would cut if off and add a more realistic one.

Very heroic 28mm.

My take, Not that good by today's standards I'm afraid, just looks sad old school to me, not that exciting DnD style from Late 70s

Well, they look pretty stiff. No animation in those poses. If you are looking for old school, these might do. But there is so much competition out there that I think they need to step up their game if they want to compete in the 21st century.

I have to say that I'm a big fan of Tony's style and have been for many years. Those that know me realise my addiction to old lead is beyond help :) I'm always looking for any of his sculpts if anyone has any to trade etc. 80s Heroes Miniatures contains one of my favorite lines of old school Gothic Horror types.

Meh. These are gross caricatures of the human form and as others have said are stiff and uninteresting poses. No thanks.

I like them…a lot! It is a nice change from the usual bare-midriff impossibly non-functional armored figures out there. I love caricatures as it is a nice reminder that our hobby is not a serious one. I'd happily use these in a fantasy setting.

Compared to the old foundry sculptors, these have a very long way to go

For those of you who are addicted to the 3D-sculpted wonder-figures of the modern age, these may seem a little basic.
However, what they have in spades is character. I have both these figures and close up they are excellent. I am looking forwards to painting them.
Remember not every figure has to be pirouetting in combat, weapons and arms flailing. If you are playing skirmish or role-playing games, characters just standing still can come in very handy.

I can see these as handy RPG figures (Runequest, anyone?). As for very big axe blades:

In a fantasy setting where enchanted weapons are potentially ubiquitous, an oversized weapon is not exactly all that OTT… >;)
