Several people have requested painted pictures so yesterday I quickly painted the T62 1/100 (15mm Flames of War size) test print I did the other day. Here is a photo of before and after, the photo is taken after the supports I printed were removed. The supports that my printer does are very easily removed. Some filing and cutting is required afterwards to clean it up all the way. Before:
After:
Some other people wanted to see stuff with the supports still attached so here are some images of BMP 2 models with the supports still attached.
The Buffalo was a request by my 79 year old mom who's birthday is just days away so I was happy to comply. The bigger prints like this take 9 to 10 hours to do though.
I also said that I was scratch building some type 88 tanks for my 15mm PLA modern forces. So here is a painted example of my first completed type 88.
I just lightly cleaned the models of the little bits and burrs from printing and then spray painted them Walmart auto grey primer. Then used craft paints sprayed onto the models with the tracks and MGs painted asphalt with gunmetal drybrush. When you do close ups they look so so, but they really look quite good in person. I will have to learn how to take better pictures I guess. I hope this helps. |

Your results look pretty good! Today's 3D printers are not great for men/creatures, but for terrain, and vehicles, they seem to produce very acceptable models. Thanks for sharing! Cheers! |
